New Zealand batters Conway and Allen left central contract: will now play T20 league; before them four New Zealand players have also refused

New Zealand batsmen Devon Conway and Finn Allen have left New Zealand’s central contract. They were included in the list of central contracts released by the New Zealand Cricket Board last month. Both these players have left New Zealand Cricket’s central contract to give preference to franchise cricket. Now another player will be included in the central contract in place of both. Conway has signed a casual agreement like Kane Williamson and will be available for all international matches except Sri Lanka’s white ball matches in January. He will play in the South Africa T20 in January. He can be seen playing for Joburg Super Kings in SA20. Conway is a resident of South Africa. He left the country in 2017 and shifted to New Zealand. Finn Allen has not been offered a casual agreement by New Zealand Cricket. However, he will be available for selection for international matches while not playing league matches. Conway has been included in the team for the Test series against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka next month. He will be available for all 9 upcoming Test matches of New Zealand. He has agreed to play in the warm-up matches before the Champions Trophy to be held in February. He will also play in the three-match ODI series in Pakistan before the Champions Trophy.
