Udaipur erupted due to children’s fight: violence in many places, vehicles burnt, mall vandalized and stoned; Section 163 imposed

In Udaipur, Rajasthan, tension arose on Friday (August 16) due to a fight between two students of a government school. People vandalized a shopping mall and pelted stones. Cars parked in a garage were also set on fire. After 7 pm, the police lathicharged and dispersed the protesters. After this, the collector imposed Section 163 in the city. Despite many efforts by the administration to restore peace, stone pelting took place between the two sides late in the evening. After this, the police dispersed all the people present there. The situation in the city is still tense, no untoward incident has been reported after 8 pm. The incident took place in Surajpol police station area at 10:30 am. Here in the Government Higher Secondary School Bhattyani Chauhatta, a student attacked another student with a knife and injured him. After this, the minor accused absconded. The school teacher took the injured student to Maharana Bhupal (MB) Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. Both the students involved in the incident belong to different religions. As soon as the matter came to light, Hindu organizations closed shops in Chetak Circle, Hathipol, Ashwini Bazaar, Bapu Bazaar and Ghantaghar areas of the city. After this, the crowd turned violent. Collector Arvind Poswal said- The minor student has been taken into custody and his father has been arrested. Police is deployed as a precaution. The accused and the victim are students of the same class. District Education Officer Lokesh Bharti said- The age of both the minors is around 15 years. Both study in the same class. There is no information about what dispute happened between the two earlier. When lunch was over, both of them fought outside the school. In this fight, one student injured the other by stabbing him two-three times in the thigh with a knife. When the injured student started screaming, the teacher ran out. When the child’s family came to know about the incident, they reached MB Hospital. Not only this, people from Hindu organizations reached the hospital and raised slogans and expressed anger over the incident. Police force has been deployed in the hospital. Principal said – Both are good in studies, never seen them fighting
Principal Isha Dharmawat said – About 5 to 7 minutes after lunch, suddenly some students came running from outside the school shouting. I immediately went outside and saw and was shocked. The student was in an injured state. The staff immediately took him to the hospital by making him sit on my scooter. Both the students are good in studies. Before this, I have never seen or heard of both of them fighting in school. This kind of incident shocked us too. Force of 15 police stations deployed in Udaipur city
Udaipur ASP City Umesh Ojha said that police force is deployed in almost all areas of the city. In this, force of about 15 police stations of the city has been deployed. Additional force has also been deployed from the police line. All the police officers are keeping an eye on every activity by staying in the field. Section 163 is being followed.
