Voting in Jammu and Kashmir from September 18, in Haryana on October 1: results on October 4; elections in Maharashtra after festivals, no mention of Jharkhand

The Election Commission on Friday (August 16) announced the dates for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. Voting will be held in 3 phases on September 18, September 25 and October 1 for 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir. Voting will be held on October 1 in a single phase on all 90 seats in Haryana. The results of both the states will come on October 4. Assembly elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years. This will be the first assembly election after the removal of Article 370. Possible elections: October 2024 Elections were held in 2019 in the 81-member assembly of the state. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha formed the government with the alliance. 43 MLAs are needed for a majority in the 81-member Jharkhand Assembly. Currently, the alliance has 46 MLAs. JMM has 26, Congress has 18, RJD has one and CPI (ML) has one MLA. Hemant Soren became the Chief Minister of the state. At the same time, 7 assembly seats of the state are vacant. On January 31, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren was arrested in the land scam. Before his arrest, he had resigned from the post of CM. Champai Soren was made the Chief Minister in his place. On June 28, the Jharkhand High Court granted bail to Hemant Soren. After this Champai Soren resigned from the post of CM. On July 4, Hemant took oath as the CM of Jharkhand for the third time.
