Sensex closed at 81,634 today i.e. on 8 October with a gain of 584 points. Nifty also gained 217 points, it closed at 25,013. At the same time, BSE Small Cap closed at 55,439, up 1,322 points. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 19 rose and 11 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 36 rose and 14 fell. The media sector saw the highest gain of 3.11%. There was a decline of 218 points in Nifty also; it closed at 24,795. Whereas, BSE Small Cap closed down by 1,827 points at 54,117. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 23 were down and 7 were up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 were down and 10 were up. All except the IT sector of NSE closed with a decline.
