The series of threats to blow up planes continues. On Thursday once again 85 flights received threats. According to media reports, these include 20 flights of Air India, 20 of Indigo, 20 of Vistara and 25 of Akasa. Akasa Air issued a statement saying – Today some of our flights received security alerts. The airline’s response teams are following safety and security protocols with the local authorities. Today, Goa International Airport (Dabolim) and Manohar International Airport in Goa were put on high alert today. 4 flights landing at these airports had received bomb threats. After this, a Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was formed for both the airports. In the last 11 days, bomb threats have been received in more than 255 planes. Due to this, the aviation sector has suffered a loss of more than 600 crores. A day earlier, on October 23, the IT Ministry had a virtual meeting with social media platforms X, Meta and airline companies regarding these threats. The government had asked the social media companies, ‘What have you done to stop the spread of these dangerous rumors. These circumstances show that you are promoting crime.’ On October 21, Naidu had said that the names of those who threaten to bomb flights can be included in the ‘no fly list’. The government is planning to amend the aviation security rules and the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Civil Aviation Security Act, 1982.
