Honda’s 2 electric scooters Activa-E and QC1 revealed: Will run 102km on full charge, 80kmph top speed; will compete with Ola S1

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India introduced electric scooters Activa-E and QC1 in the Indian market on 27 November. These are the company’s first electric two-wheelers. The company has not yet announced the price of both the vehicles. Booking of both the models will start from January 1, 2025 and delivery from February 2025. Both EVs will compete with the Ola S1 range. Swappable battery will be available in Activa-E and fixed battery pack option in QC1. The company claims that Activa-E can achieve a top speed of 80 km and will run 102km on a single full charge. At the same time, QC1 will get a range of 80km and top speed of 50kmph on full charge. Honda is offering 3 years / 50,000 km warranty, three free services and complimentary roadside assistance. This warranty offer is available for those who buy EV in the first one year. Both EVs will come with five color options
Honda Activa Electric and QC1 are EVs with advanced and attractive design. The design of both EVs is the same, only the hub motor is given in the rear wheel of QC1. At the same time, the electric motor is installed on the side of the rear wheel of Activa-E. The front apron of both EVs has an LED headlamp, which is indicated with turn indicators and sleek LED DRL. The bodywork is shiny, which has a mix of curved and straight lines. Both EVs will get 5 color options. Which includes Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Misty White, Matte Foggy Silver Metallic, Pearl Igneous Black and Pearl Shallow Blue. Performance: 0-60 kmph speed in 7.3 seconds

For performance, Activa-E has an electric motor mounted on the side of the rear wheel, which generates 8hp of power and 22Nm of torque. The company claims that the e-scooter can accelerate from 0-60 kmph in just 7.3 seconds. It has three riding modes – Eco, Standard and Sport. Activa-E is offered with a 3kWh battery pack. It has two 1.5 kWh swappable batteries. The company claims that the e-scooter will run 102 km on a single charge. At the same time, the QC1 has a BLDC hub motor mounted in the rear wheel, which generates 2.4hp of power and 77Nm of torque. The company claims that this scooter can achieve a speed of 0-40 kmph in just 9.7 seconds and its top speed is 50kmph. It will have two riding modes – Standard and Eco. The QC1 has a 1.5kWh fixed battery to power the motor, which will give a range of 80 km on full charge. A home charger will be provided with it, which can fully charge the battery in 6:50 hours and charge up to 80% in 4:30 hours. Hardware: 12-inch alloy wheels
Honda Activa-E and QC1 have telescopic forks at the front and 5-step adjustable hydraulic twin shock absorbers at the rear for comfortable riding. For braking, Activa-E uses 160mm front disc and 130mm drum brake at the rear, while QC1 will get 130mm drum brake in the front wheel and 110mm drum brake in the rear wheel. Talking about features, Activa E has a 7-inch TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, music control, inbuilt GPS navigation, day and night mode. Apart from this, like the ICE Activa, a smart key system, USB C-type charging port and hook have been provided. On the other hand, the QC1 comes with a 5.0-inch LCD display, a USB Type-C charging port and a 26-litre under-seat storage. Battery as a Service program will also be available with both EVs. The company will soon introduce Battery as a Service (BAAS) with both EVs like car manufacturer MG Motor India. This is a battery rental program. Under this, the price of the battery pack is not included in the price of buying an electric car. Instead, money will be charged according to the use of the battery. That is, the cost of the battery will be recovered as rental fee according to the number of kilometres you drive the car, which you will have to pay every month as EMI, but you will have to pay separately for charging the battery. Both EVs will initially be sold from Honda BeX showrooms in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.
