The Detective Branch of Bangladesh Police has detained two film actresses on Thursday. The names of these two actresses are Meher Afroz Shaun and Sohana Saba. Both are well-known faces of the Bangladeshi film industry. According to the Dhaka Tribune report, treason charges have been filed against Meher, while the information about the charges against Sohana is not yet known. According to Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Rezaul Karim Malik, they have been detained for questioning on the basis of intel. They were taken to the DB office on Mintu Road in the capital Dhaka. Talking to news agency ANI over the phone, Malik said that we have received some information. According to the Dhaka Tribune report, students and locals took out a procession in Narundi Bazar on Thursday evening. After a while, this procession reached Mohammad Ali’s house. After this, the attackers threw bricks and stones at Meher’s father’s house and later set it on fire. Meher’s father contested for a ticket from Jamalpur-5 (Sadar) seat in the last election. But he could not contest the election due to not getting a ticket from the party. Meher’s mother, Tahura Ali, was an Awami League MP from a reserved seat in 1996. On the other hand, the houses of Sheikh Hasina’s cousins Sheikh Sohail and Sheikh Jewel in Khulna have been demolished with two bulldozers. In fact, Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League had appealed to its workers and leaders to take to the streets on February 6.
