Hyderabad Police arrested two female YouTubers who criticized Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. They were arrested on Wednesday on the complaint of the State Secretary of the Congress Social Media Cell. The court has sent both of them to 14 days judicial custody. Additional Commissioner of Police P Vishwaprasad said that the video was shot in February at the headquarters of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS). It was released on March 10 just before the budget session as part of a plan to insult and defame the CM. The content of the video is obscene and insulting. The police said that the case is related to an insulting video shot at the BRS headquarters. In this, Managing Director of YouTube channel Pulse Digital News Network Revathi Pogadanda and colleague Tanvi Yadav have been arrested. In the complaint on behalf of the Congress, it was said that a video is being promoted on X. In the video, a Pulse News reporter is interviewing a person. The person is saying objectionable things about the Chief Minister. Such video posts can deteriorate law and order. The YouTuber asked Rahul – Is this your democracy?
Before the arrest, Revathi had shared a video. In the video, she said – The police are at my door. They want to arrest me. Revanth Reddy wants to put pressure on me and my family. Want to threaten me. The female YouTubers’ lawyer Jakkula Lakshman said – Both were arrested for doing their job. They interviewed a common man who was angry with the government and showed it on their channel. Earlier, Revathi had tagged former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday afternoon while sharing a part of the Congress FIR on her X handle.
