Pakistani actor Fawad Khan’s Bollywood comeback film ‘Abir Gulaal’ is going to release on 9 May. But the film got embroiled in controversies even before its release. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, its songs have been removed from YouTube. Protests have started against Vaani Kapoor on social media. Two songs of ‘Abir Gulaal’ – ‘Angrezi Rangrasiya’ and ‘Khudaya Ishq’ were first released on YouTube. But now they are not visible in India. These songs have also been removed from the official channel of A Richer Lens Entertainment and the YouTube channel of music label Saregama. So far, no statement has come from the producer of the film, nor from the actors. Fans also noticed that Vaani Kapoor deleted the promotional video shared on 22 April in which she was seen with Fawad Khan. This was the day when the attack took place in Pahalgam. Since then, the atmosphere has become very sensitive. Now the exhibitors and distributors of cinema halls are confused about the release of the film in view of this environment. It is also being reported that the release of the film can be postponed.
Meanwhile, #boycottvaanikapoor has started trending on social media. People raised the question that why Vaani Kapoor remained silent on such a big attack. On this, Vaani Kapoor shared an emotional post on social media and wrote- ‘Ever since I have seen the Pahalgam incident, I am numb. I am at a loss for words. This attack on innocent people is heartbreaking. My prayers are with all those families who are going through this pain.’ At the same time, Fawad Khan also issued a statement saying- ‘The attack in Pahalgam is very painful. Our condolences are for those who died in it. We pray to God that their families get strength in this difficult time.’ Now that only a few weeks are left for the release of the film, Fawad Khan’s comeback is in question. Hania Aamir and Diljit Dosanjh’s film stopped Film Workers Federation of India Cinema Entertainment (FWICE) has again banned Pakistani actors from working in India. After this, Hania Aamir and Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi film has been stopped. After this decision, the shooting and release of the film has been postponed for now.
