The Rajasthan government on Friday heard the leave-to-appeal in the blackbuck hunting case in the High Court. In this, the decision to acquit actor Saif Ali Khan, actresses Tabu, Neelam and Sonali Bendre has been challenged. The court of Justice Manoj Kumar Garg has ordered the case to be listed along with other related cases. According to advocate Mahipal Vishnoi, blackbuck was hunted on 1 October 1998 during the shooting of the film Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Kankani village of Jodhpur. In the case, the trial court had convicted actor Salman Khan on 5 April 2018 and sentenced him to five years imprisonment. In this case, co-accused film actor Saif Ali Khan, actresses Neelam, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Dushyant Singh were acquitted giving the benefit of doubt. The state government’s appeal will also include the matter related to the permission of the transfer petition and the punishment of actor Salman Khan. The case will be heard on July 28, in which all the related cases will be heard together. What has happened so far in the deer hunting cases? 1. Kankani village case: On 5 April 2018, actor Salman Khan was sent to Jodhpur Central Jail after being convicted. However, on 7 April 2018, the District and Sessions Court granted conditional bail to Salman Khan on a bond of Rs 50,000 and he was released the same day. Currently, he is out on bail in this case. The hearing on this case is pending in the High Court. 2. Ghodha Farm House case: In this case, on 10 April 2006, the CJM court sentenced him to 5 years in prison. Salman went to the High Court against this. On 25 July 2016, the High Court acquitted him. The state government appealed against this decision in the Supreme Court. The hearing is pending. 3. Bhavad village case: In this case, the CJM court convicted Salman on 17 February 2006 and sentenced him to one year in prison. The High Court acquitted Salman in this case as well. The state government had appealed against the verdict in the Supreme Court. The hearing is pending. 4. Arms case: In this case, the court acquitted Salman on 18 January 2017. The state government had appealed against this verdict in the High Court.
