Attack on Israeli supporters in Colorado, USA: Petrol bombs thrown at people, 8 people injured, attacker shouted slogans of Free Palestine

On Sunday, a suspect attacked people in Boulder city of Colorado state of America, shouting the slogan of Free Palestine. He threw a Molotov cocktail at the people, which caused a fire on the spot. 8 people were burnt due to this fire. A video of the incident has also surfaced in which a person is seen throwing a Molotov cocktail (petrol bomb). This attack took place during the gathering of a group named Run for Their Lives. This group was demanding the release of Israeli citizens held captive by Hamas in Gaza. Police have arrested a suspect from the spot. The accused has been identified as 45-year-old Mohammad Sabri Soliman. CNN reported that Soliman had earlier applied for asylum in the US. In 2005, Soliman was denied a visa to enter the US. However, it is not yet clear when and how he came to the US. FBI called it a terrorist attack The US investigative agency FBI has called it a terrorist attack based on initial information. FBI Deputy Director Dan Bonzino said, based on initial information, this attack appears to be a terrorist incident motivated by ideological hatred. Boulder Police Chief Steve Redfern said that the attack was on people protesting peacefully and the injuries of the victims show that an attempt was made to burn them. However, he said that it is too early to reach any conclusion at the moment. Colorado Governor Jared Polis issued a statement saying, “Any act filled with violence and hatred cannot be tolerated.” After the incident, the police evacuated the entire market area. Security forces patrolled the streets and appealed to people to stay away from that area. Last month, two staff of the Israeli Embassy were shot dead in the capital Washington DC on 21 May last month. According to the Times of Israel, the criminal shot both of them from close range while shouting the slogan ‘Free Palestine’. The dead included a man and a woman. At the time of the incident, both the employees were coming out of the Capitol Jewish Museum. The Israeli embassy spokesperson said that the two had recently got engaged and were going to get married soon. After the incident, the police arrested the accused named Elias Rodriguez. 30-year-old Elias is a resident of Chicago.
