Shabbir Ahluwalia will be seen romancing an actress 18 years younger than him: Lost 14 kg for the show ‘Uff Yeh Love’, said – the story is different from traditional melodrama

A new romantic-comedy drama ‘Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil’ has started on Sony SAB from June 9. Shabbir Ahluwalia is seen in the role of ‘Yug Sinha’ in this show. His character in this is that of a lawyer. A special conversation was held with him on this… Tell us something about the concept of this show? This is a love story that is different from traditional melodrama. It shows the complexity of relationships, conflict of ideas and depth of emotions. Yug Sinha is a person who has been cheated in love and hates love, while Carrie Sharma (Ashi Singh) believes in love and fate. The show will see the sweet and sour banter and conflict between these two characters with opposite thinking. The show will also show the story of a unique family, where the complexities of relationships and the hustle and bustle of life are shown in a light-hearted and humorous way. What did you do to prepare for the character of Yug? You have worked hard to play the character of ‘Yug Sinha’ in this show. To improve this role, I have also lost 14 kgs of weight. This character is quite different from my earlier ‘ideal husband’ roles. Yug is a person who takes decisions with his mind, not his heart, and keeps his emotions hidden. Overall, ‘Uff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil’ is a refreshing rom-com which is a combination of romance, comedy and family drama. Did you ever find it difficult to handle success? Success is not permanent, sometimes it comes and sometimes it doesn’t. I work hard in every project, but its success or failure is in the hands of the audience and God. What if the previous show did not work, the next one can work. This is a part of life. Despite films, your identity was made through television. How do you see it? I did negative roles in films, but the scripts and characters that I get on TV, I did not get them in films. For me, the script matters more than the medium. I am lucky that I have been able to engage my fans with every medium. Be it a movie, OTT or television. The truth is that the kind of roles I get in television, I don’t get those roles in films. I don’t want to do films just for the sake of doing them. Television is a beautiful medium for me, through which I can not only reach my audience in India, but also make my presence felt in every country. You and your wife Kanchi Kaul are from the same industry, how do you manage your time? We both give full time to each other. I return home as soon as I get free from shooting. When we spend time together, there is no room for complaints. What role did family play in making your career? Family deserves a lot of credit. Without family, you are nothing. There are ups and downs in life. Because of a happy family, I never feel pressure. Sometimes I eat food sitting with family, sometimes I watch a movie sitting with family, sometimes I play cricket and football. Family is very important in life. I consider both things very important, one is a happy family and the other is a family with friends. Keep laughing and playing with fun, otherwise what is life! The responsibility with the family seems less and enjoyment seems more. Why is Kanchi Kaul away from acting? Will you both be seen together? This is her own decision. She wanted to be with her children in their early years. Now that the children have grown up a bit, she can return to work soon. If a good project comes and both of you like it, then we will definitely work together but there is no plan right now. Would you like to return to production again? Currently I am busy with acting. When I get time and a strong script, only then will I step into production again. I don’t do anything with planning. If a good project comes, after hearing about it I feel like working on it, then I do it. If I don’t feel like it, then I sit at home and enjoy. How was the experience of sharing the screen with such a young heroine? There is a lot to learn from new actors. Ashi is very positive. Her energy and hard work is amazing. She is talented and her future is bright.
