The bridge on the Mahisagar river in Vadodara, Gujarat collapsed on Wednesday morning. Vehicles were passing through the bridge at the time of the accident. When the bridge collapsed, a total of five vehicles, two trucks, two cars and a rickshaw, fell into the river. A tanker got stuck at the broken end. 13 people died in the accident, while 8 were rescued by local people. Two people are missing. Three fire brigade teams are engaged in rescue. This 45-year-old bridge connects South Gujarat to Saurashtra. Due to the collapse of the bridge, it will take more time to reach Saurashtra from South Gujarat cities like Bharuch, Surat, Navsari, Tapi and Valsad. Now for this, a longer route will have to be taken via Ahmedabad.
