Salman’s response to the pan masala advertisement controversy: He told the court, “I don’t promote gutkha, I only promote silver cardamom.”

Bollywood actor Salman Khan presented his views in court regarding the pan masala advertisement controversy. The actor stated that he had only advertised silver cardamom, not gutkha or pan masala. Salman has filed his response in the Kota Consumer Court. This matter relates to a complaint accusing Salman of misleading advertising. According to India Today, during the hearing on Thursday, Salman’s lawyer, Ashish Dubey, stated that this matter does not fall under the jurisdiction of the Consumer Commission. He explained that Salman neither manufactures nor sells pan masala, and therefore, it is inappropriate to involve him in this case. Lawyer Dubey stated that Salman Khan had only advertised silver cardamom, which does not fall under the category of pan masala. Therefore, the complaint is baseless. Meanwhile, complainant Inder Mohan Singh Honey has questioned Salman’s response. He claims that Salman’s signature does not appear genuine. He has asked the court to investigate Salman’s presence and signature. The next hearing in this case will be on December 9th. What is the full story? In fact, Inder Mohan Singh Honey has filed a case against Salman Khan in the Kota Consumer Court. The complaint states that Salman Khan has advertised a mouth freshener brand in a way that is misleading the youth. Inder Mohan Singh Honey stated, “Salman Khan is a role model for many people. We have filed a complaint against him in the Kota Consumer Court. In other countries, celebrities or film stars don’t even endorse cold drinks, but here they promote products like tobacco and pan masala.” He further stated that Rajshree Pan Masala, the company that manufactures pan masala, and Salman Khan have made a misleading advertisement by describing their product as saffron-laced cardamom and saffron-laced pan masala. This claim cannot be true, as saffron costs approximately 4 lakh rupees per kilogram, which cannot be included in a 5 rupee product. Such false claims encourage young people to consume pan masala, a major cause of mouth cancer. Following Inder Mohan Singh Honey’s complaint, the Kota Consumer Court issued a notice to Salman Khan and sought his response.
