277 national celebrities have condemned the “shirtless” protest by Indian Youth Congress (IYC) workers at the AI Impact Summit. These figures include former High Court judges, retired officers, former ambassadors, and retired senior military and police officers. They issued a joint statement on Tuesday, calling the protest an affront to national dignity, a deliberate act, and an example of thoughtless politics. The statement was signed by 26 former judges, including former High Court Chief Justice B.C. Patel, 102 retired officers, including 11 former ambassadors, and 149 former military and police officers. On February 20th, 11 members of the Indian Youth Congress entered the Bharat Mandapam during the AI Summit, shirtless, and brandished T-shirts bearing PM Modi’s image.
