No ban on the film Yadav Ji Ki Love Story: SC says, “No negative message, but does a Hindu girl’s marriage to a Muslim disrupt the social fabric?”

The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected a petition to ban the film “Yadav Ji Ki Love Story.” The court stated that the film’s title contained no words that would tarnish the image of the Yadav community. The Vishva Yadav Parishad had argued in the petition that the film’s title portrayed the Yadav community in a negative light. Furthermore, the film depicts a love story between a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy from the Yadav community. During the hearing, the bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan asked, “Does the marriage of a Hindu girl to a Muslim boy disrupt the social fabric?” The court distinguished this case from its recent ruling regarding the film “Bhuskhor Pandit.” The court stated that the word “Bhuskhor” means corrupt, which directly carries a negative connotation. However, the current film’s title does not contain any such negative connotations. The court also stated, “If you have any objections after release, please contact us.” The petitioner’s lawyer stated that the film claims to be based on a true story. To this, the court responded, “The film Bandit Queen also raised concerns about the Gurjar community being portrayed in a negative light, but the court refused to ban it.” The lawyer explained that the film had not yet been released, and if they found anything objectionable after its release, they could approach the court again. The bench responded, “Be patient. This is fiction. Everything will be over in a week. These days, people are watching on mobile phones, not theaters.” Yadav Ji Ki Love Story is scheduled for release on February 27th. Pragati Tiwari plays the lead role of “Simple Yadav.” Vishal Mohan will play “Wasim Akhtar.” The film is directed by Ankit Bhadana and produced by Sandeep Tomar. Protests are taking place in several cities in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and several other states. Several Yadav organizations are objecting to its title and story. The main reason for the protests is said to be the film’s story. Organizations claim the film depicts a love story between a Hindu girl and a Muslim boy from the Yadav community. Some within the Yadav community claim it tarnishes their image and hurts their sentiments. They allege the film’s title and story specifically target the Yadav community. Protesters say such a story is against the community’s culture, faith, and history. Some organizations have also objected, linking it to “love jihad.” The film’s title has also been questioned. Protesters claim the use of the word “Yadavji” is deliberately used for publicity purposes and misuses caste identity. They argue this could negatively impact the Yadav community’s image. —————— Also Read… After “Bhuskhor Pandit,” controversy erupts over “Yadavji Ki Love Story”: Khesari Lal says, “Show solidarity here too by changing the title, the standards for right and wrong should be the same.” A controversy has erupted over the film “Yadavji Ki Love Story.” It mentions a specific caste.
