Rajkummar Rao and Vamika Gabbi starrer film ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’ has been released in theaters today. The story of the film is such that it does not rely on big twists or thrills. Its strength is its characters, simplicity of relationships and straightforward experiences of life. This film tells that forgiving human mistakes and giving a second chance is also a beautiful part of life. The length of this film is 2 hours 1 minute. Dainik Bhaskar has given this film a rating of 3 stars out of 5. How is the story of the film? This is the story of Ranjan (Rajkummar Rao) and Titli (Vamika Gabbi) of Banaras, who love each other immensely and want to get married. But Titli’s family is ready for marriage only when Ranjan gets a government job. Ranjan gets the job with a clever trick, but as soon as the wedding date is fixed, circumstances become such that the marriage hangs in the balance. Will Ranjan find a way out this time too? This sets up the climax of the film, where a strong social message is also given. How is the acting of the starcast? Rajkumar Rao once again brings Ranjan alive with his effortless acting. Both his comic timing and emotional depth are effective. Vamika Gabbi looks quite impressive in some scenes as Titli, and her chemistry with Rajkumar seems fresh. Actors like Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa and Raghubir Yadav add laughter and interest to the film. Zakir Hussain also supports them. How is the direction? Karan Sharma has tried to give an interesting twist to a simple story. But the screenplay feels a bit stretched and slow, especially before the interval. Some scenes lead the film towards boredom. After the interval, the film takes a funny turn and some scenes really bring laughter. However, in the end, while giving a social message, the film starts to seem a bit preachy. The attempt to show the background of Banaras was good, but the inconsistency of language (sometimes Awadhi, sometimes Bundelkhandi) and lack of atmosphere is troubling. Some one-liners are good, but many dialogues seem like WhatsApp forwards. How is the music of the film? Songs like ‘Ting Ling Sajna’ and ‘Chor Bazaari Phir Se’ try to blend into the story, but their impact is limited. The music is average and is not completely successful in lifting the story. Final verdict of the film, should you watch it or not? If you are a fan of Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films and want to watch a light-hearted family film that has the sweetness of relationships, some laughter and a heart-touching message in the end – then you can definitely watch ‘Bhool Chook Maaf’ once, or else you can also watch it on OTT.
