Top Naxal leader Basava Raju was cremated on Monday evening in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. Along with Basava, the police cremated 8 Naxalites. Police said that the dead body was rotting so it was cremated after the order of the magistrate. Let us tell you that an encounter took place in Abujhmad of Bastar on May 21. In this, 27 Naxalites including Basava Raju, a Naxalite with a reward of Rs 10 crore, were killed. The police has cremated the bodies of 8 Naxalites. The family of Maoist cadre Kosi alias Hungi had reached Narayanpur on 26 May to collect the body. Considering the possibility of spread of infectious disease due to the body, they requested to perform the last rites at Narayanpur headquarters itself. There was no clear legal claim for the bodies of the remaining 7 Naxalites. This also included the body of CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basava Raju. The last rites of these 7 bodies were performed in Narayanpur as per the order of the Executive Magistrate. Whereas, the last rites of Kosi Hungi were performed by the family in Narayanpur itself.
