In May, the government collected ?2.01 lakh crore GST: 16.4% increase compared to last year; record ?2.37 lakh crore collection was made in April

According to the data released on Sunday, June 1, a year ago i.e. in May 2024, the government had collected Rs 1.73 lakh crore GST. In the previous month, in April 2025, the government had collected Rs 2.37 lakh crore from Goods and Services Tax (GST). There was an increase of 12.6% on an annual basis. This was a record GST collection. Last month, the government collected ? 1.90 lakh crore from domestic transactions. In April, the government collected tax of 1.90 lakh crore from domestic transactions. There has been a growth of 10.7% on an annual basis. At the same time, the government has collected 46,913 crore GST through imports. There has been an increase of 20.8% in a year.
