UP government is getting QR installed on hotels and dhabas on Kanwar route: Liquor shops will be covered, only Kanwariyas will walk on one lane

Amid the name plate controversy before the Kanwar Yatra in UP, the Yogi government is getting hotels and dhabas inspected. Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) teams have made it mandatory to put food safety QR code stickers. On Tuesday, officers put stickers in dhabas and restaurants in Muzaffarnagar and Lucknow. These QR stickers are linked to the Food Safety Connect app, which on scanning will give information about the dhaba’s registration number, owner’s name, address and menu.

FSDA department’s special secretary and additional commissioner Rekha S Chauhan said, a special campaign has been started on all Kanwar routes. We are pasting ‘Safety App Connect’ stickers in all restaurants and food carts. Restaurant owners have also been instructed to put up rate lists of their products. Food items are being checked on all routes. Cleanliness is also being checked. A restaurant owner from Lucknow said, ‘Officials came to my shop. We have been instructed to maintain cleanliness during the Kanwar Yatra. We will try our best to live up to the expectations of Kanwar pilgrims. Kanwar Yatra will start from July 11 in UP. Kanwariyas from UP, Haryana, Delhi will reach Haridwar. They will collect water from Haridwar and Gomukh. At the same time, a meeting of officers from 4 states UP, Haryana, Delhi and Uttarakhand was held in the Commissioner’s Office of Meerut on Tuesday regarding the safety and convenience of 4 crore Kanwariyas. UP DGP Rajiv Krishna and Chief Secretary Manoj Singh were present in it. UP DGP Rajiv Krishna said – From July 11, liquor shops on the entire Kanwar route will be covered. The shops will open, but will be covered with curtains. The entire Kanwar route will be monitored by drones. The traffic police has presented a new plan, which will come into effect from the night of July 10. Heavy vehicles will not enter the city.
