Kamal Gavai, mother of Chief Justice of India (CJI) B.R. Gavai, will not attend the RSS centenary celebrations in Amravati, Maharashtra, on October 5th. She has been named the chief guest. In an open letter, 84-year-old Kamal Gavai wrote, “After the news of her being invited as the chief guest, unnecessary controversy and accusations began to surface, which led to my decision not to attend.” She wrote that some people had invited her to the event, and she wishes everyone well, but given the circumstances, she will not attend. Former President Ram Nath Kovind will be the chief guest at the RSS event in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on the occasion of Dussehra on October 2nd. This year, the RSS is celebrating 100 years of its founding. This will be a historic event in the RSS’s centenary year. Ram Nath Kovind is the second former President to be the chief guest at an RSS event. Earlier in 2018, former President Pranab Mukherjee was the chief guest at an event of the RSS. He attended the closing ceremony of a training camp. The RSS celebrates its foundation day on Vijayadashami. It was started by Dr. Balram Krishna Hedgewar on Vijayadashami in 1925. ——————— Bhagwat said- I am not retiring, nor did I tell anyone: If the RSS wants, I will work even after the age of 75.
