When ATS interrogated him strictly, he told that he knew Sanyal Bane from a long time. He first met Sanyal in Mumbai through a friend. After this, both of them met several times in Nashik. Five years ago, Sanyal was sentenced to five years in NDPS Act case. He served his sentence in Arthur Road Jail, Mumbai. Sanyal created a network of smugglers in jail. During his sentence, Sanyal met drug smugglers from different states lodged in Arthur Jail, Mumbai. These smugglers also included a notorious smuggler named Tushar Goyal, who is a resident of Delhi. However, he had many hideouts in Punjab, Haryana, Nepal, Gujarat. It was from here that Sanyal found a way to smuggle MD drugs. Before this, he used to sell drugs like cocaine and hashish. While in jail, he got Amit Prakash to start a factory. Prakash was not doing any special work. He was fond of high profile life style. Taking advantage of this, Sanyal, while in jail, sent his henchman and the third accused in the case, Harish Anjana (32) to Prakash. Harish and Sanyal have also been in Arthur Road Jail together. It was Harish who showed Prakashchandra the dream of becoming rich through a short cut. Under Sanyal’s message, he was asked to look for land for a factory in the outskirts of Bhopal. When drug production started in it, Harish used to send these drugs to Mandsaur through different ways and then to the customers from there. Then the police came to know that there is a factory in the area, whose ventilation is attached to the ground level. Usually this happens only in chemical factories. Because, in other factories, chimney or ventilation is on the roof for the exit of smoke. This increased the suspicion of the investigation team.
