Thousands of pro-Imran protesters arrested in Pakistan: Going for a rally in Islamabad, getting support from 60 foreign locations

The convoy of protesters protesting for the release of Imran Khan in Pakistan is moving towards the capital Islamabad. The protest started on Sunday 24 November on the appeal of Imran Khan. Imran has named this protest ‘Final Call’. To stop the protest, the police have arrested more than 4 thousand Imran supporters. These include 5 MPs as well. Meanwhile, the ongoing protest in Pakistan is getting support from all over the world. PTI supporters in more than 60 cities of the world are demanding the release of Imran Khan. PTI has shared pictures of protests from many cities of Canada, America, Britain on its social media platform. In view of the visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Pakistan today, the Shahbaz Sharif government has already tightened the security arrangements. The main roads leading to the capital Islamabad were closed on 23 November itself through containers. Thousands of police personnel have also been deployed. Imran’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and supporters are protesting for 3 demands. The first demand is that Imran Khan and PTI workers should be released soon. Apart from this, accepting the results of the 2024 elections and withdrawing the 26th Constitutional Amendment Act passed in the Pakistani Parliament, which reduces the power of the courts. More than 100 cases against Khan
More than 100 cases are going on against Imran Khan. The local court of Islamabad convicted him in the Toshakhana case on August 5, 2023. After this, he was arrested from his house in Zaman Park, Islamabad and sent to jail. Later he was convicted in 2 more cases. According to English newspaper Dawn, if Imran comes out of jail, he will raise the demand for re-election in Pakistan. Imran’s Tehreek-e-Insaf party could not officially participate in the general elections held this year.
