Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan are good friends since childhood. Both of them also took acting training together. Recently, Arjun told in an interview that when both of them were making a short film together, he was not happy with his acting. He joked that perhaps due to his poor performance, he did not get much work from Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. In a conversation with Galata India, Arjun Kapoor was asked about his decision to start a production company with him and Varun. Responding to this, Arjun said, “Varun fooled me. He told me that I have a good role in a seven-minute short film. We were taking Barry John’s acting class at that time. He decided that he (Varun) wanted to direct the final film. I also said okay and how bad will he do? Arjun Kapoor said, ‘This film was directed by Varun Dhawan. The shooting of the film was completed. But when I saw the final edit of the film, I came to know that actually he was the hero in the film and I was the villain. Varun didn’t tell me anything during the shooting of the film. I came to know about it later. Arjun further said, ‘His dialogues in that film are absolutely perfect, ‘Woh sirf dikhta hai masoom swami type ka’. You can watch this film on YouTube. This is one of those rare films in which Varun can be seen wearing a T-shirt. But I am not telling you the name, because I am not very proud of it. Arjun jokingly said, ‘Varun also showed the film to Karan Johar. I think that is the reason why at one time I got less work from Dharma.’
