After the defeat in the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra and before the assembly elections to be held in October-November this year, Ajit Pawar’s tone seems to have changed. Pawar said that it was a mistake to field his wife Sunetra Pawar against cousin Supriya Sule in the Lok Sabha elections. Pawar said in an interview to a Marathi news channel on August 13 – I love all my sisters. Politics should not be allowed to enter the house. The decision to field Sunetra against my sister was taken by the party parliamentary board. Now I feel that it was a wrong decision. On the question of getting Rakhi tied by sisters on Rakshabandhan, Ajit Pawar said – If we stay at one place, I will definitely go to meet my sisters. On Ajit Pawar’s statement, Baramati MP and Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule said – I don’t know what he said. Apart from sister Supriya Sule, Ajit Pawar also discussed uncle Sharad Pawar. Ajit Pawar said – Sharad Pawar is a senior leader and the head of our family. I will not respond to any of his criticism. Mahayuti allies should also understand what he is saying about uncle Sharad Pawar. Sunil Tatkare said – He expressed his feelings
On Ajit’s statement on Supriya Sule, NCP (Ajit) Maharashtra President Sunil Tatkare said – Ajit Dada is the national president of the party. What he said is official. He has expressed his feelings. Dada is great. Whatever he has said, he has said it in an interview, he will talk about it in detail. Nationalist Congress Party under the leadership of Ajit Dada Pawar has decided to join NDA, it is a well thought out decision. Sharad faction said – BJP wants Ajit to leave Mahayuti
NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) spokesperson Clyde Crasto had claimed on July 17 that BJP is asking Ajit Pawar faction to leave the ‘Mahayuti’ alliance in Maharashtra. This statement was given citing a report published in a Marathi weekly magazine associated with RSS. Crasto had said that BJP has realized that the party cannot win elections in alliance with Ajit Pawar. He joined the BJP and on June 30, 2022, Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the 20th Chief Minister of Maharashtra. With this, the Shiv Sena party split into two factions. One faction was formed by the Shinde faction and the other by the Uddhav faction. On February 17, 2023, the Election Commission ordered that the name of the party ‘Shiv Sena’ and the party’s election symbol ‘bow and arrow’ will remain with the Eknath Shinde faction.
