Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer Alok Ranjan, who died after getting hit by a train in Ghaziabad, was surrounded by CBI investigation. His name was also coming up in the case of demanding Rs 50 lakh from C Jewellers of Mumbai. Sources are telling that CBI had questioned Alok Ranjan twice in this case. Probably due to this he was under stress and committed suicide by putting his head on the railway track. Headless body found at Gaushala railway gate on 18 August
Gaushala railway gate is in Vijaynagar police station area of Ghaziabad. Here, the headless body of a 51-year-old man was found on the railway track on the evening of 18 August. Driving license was found in the pocket. The address of Kali Bari Delhi was written on it. When the police reached there, it was found that he lived in SN Grand Society located in Rajnagar Extension, Ghaziabad. The family members came and identified the body. The post-mortem of the body was done on 19 August and they took the body away. They did not tell the police about Alok Ranjan’s profile. On the evening of 21 August, it was learned that the deceased Alok Ranjan was an officer in ED. Alok Ranjan was originally from Kahalgaon town of Bhagalpur district in Bihar. He had come on deputation to ED and was posted in Delhi. The son reached the police station to file a report, then the news of death came. The family told the police – Alok Ranjan had left the house without informing on the morning of 18 August. On his disappearance, son Apoorvam Jha reached Ghaziabad’s Nandgram police station to register a missing complaint. The police was completing the paperwork when in the meantime the news of a dead body being found at the Gaushala railway gate came. When the family reached the post-mortem house directly, the body was identified as Alok Ranjan. Alok was under stress due to CBI investigation. Actually, on August 7 this month, ED Assistant Director Sandeep Singh was arrested by CBI on charges of demanding a bribe of Rs 50 lakh. A jeweler from Mumbai had complained to CBI that a few months ago ED had raided his place. After this raid, ED had questioned his son. Assistant Director Sandeep Singh had demanded Rs 50 lakh in exchange for not arresting his son. When CBI questioned Sandeep, it is being said that the name of ED officer Alok Ranjan also came up. According to sources- ED had questioned Alok Ranjan twice. Probably due to this he was under stress and took this step. Body got separated after putting head on railway track
GRP Ghaziabad’s CO Sudesh Gupta said- Alok Ranjan had put his head on the railway track. His head got separated from the body due to the train passing over it. The station master informed about this by sending a memo to GRP Ghaziabad. After this, GRP reached the spot and filled the Panchnama of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Constable Mohammad Iqbal took the body to the post-mortem house. The reasons for the suicide are being investigated. Post Office Superintendent also committed suicide due to fear of CBI investigation
Due to CBI investigation, Superintendent of Bulandshahr Head Post Office TP Singh also committed suicide by shooting himself with his licensed weapon on the morning of 21st August. On 20th August, CBI team from Ghaziabad reached Bulandshahr Post Office and investigated for about 10 hours. CBI team also took some documents with them. Before dying, TP Singh wrote a suicide note addressed to SSP Aligarh. In this, he held some employees and former colleagues responsible for his death. He alleged that they were pressurizing him for wrongdoings and harassing him.
