Australia-A beat India-A in unofficial women’s test: won the match by 45 runs, Maddie Dark scored a century; Minnu Mani took 11 wickets

India’s Women-A cricket team that went to Australia had to face defeat in the last match as well. Australia-A won the only unofficial test by 45 runs. Maddie Dark scored a century from the team, while India’s off-spinner Minnu Mani took 5 wickets in the first innings and 6 in the second innings. Australia A won the toss and chose to bat first in Gold Coast. Opener Georgia Voll scored a fifty from the team, she scored 71 runs in 95 balls. However, there was no support at the other end. 4 batters could not score more than 5 runs, while fellow opener Emma de Brog scored 12 runs. In the end, Matlan Brown scored 30, Kat Patterson 26 and Grace Parsons 35 runs to take the team’s score to 212. From India, Minnu Mani took 5 and Priya Mishra took 4 wickets. India lost Priya Poonia’s wicket on just 13 runs, but Shweta Seharwat and Shubha Satish took over the innings. Shubha was out after scoring 22 runs, after her Tejal Hasabnis played an innings of 32 runs to take the score to 100 runs. The team had lost only 2 wickets till 100 runs, but within the next 28 runs the team lost 5 wickets and the score became 128/7. In the end, Sayali Satghare scored 21, Minnu Mani 17 and Mannat Kashyap scored 19 runs to take the team close to 180. However, the team was all out at 184 runs and Australia got a lead of 28 runs. With a lead of 28 runs, Australia-A opener Emma de Brog scored a fifty in the second innings. However, in front of her, Nicole Faltum could score only 16 and Tess Flintoff could score only 4 runs. Georgia Voll and captain Charlie Knott could not even open their account. The team lost 5 wickets at a score of 96 runs. After half the team returned to the pavilion, wicketkeeper-batsman Maddie Dark scored a century. In front of Dark, Matlan Brown scored 26 and Grace Parsons scored 35 runs. Uma Chhetri took charge, but India lost by 45 runs.

Raghavi Bist and Uma Chhetri again took charge of the team and took the score beyond 200 runs. Both had settled down, when Chhetri got out after scoring 47 runs. After her, Sayali returned to the pavilion after scoring 21 and Raghavi 26 runs. The team’s score became 219/9. Mannat Kashyap was out as the last batsman after scoring 1 run and India-A lost the match by 45 runs. The team could score only 243 runs. Tess Flintoff and Charlie Knott took 3-3 wickets in the second innings of Australia-A. Grace Parsons got 2 wickets, while Maitlan Brown and Lily Mills took 1-1 wickets.
