On the first trading day of the week today i.e. 26th August, the Sensex closed at 81,698 with a gain of 611 points. Nifty also gained 187 points, it closed at 25,010. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 21 rose and 9 fell. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 33 rose and 17 fell. All sectoral indices except PSU Bank and Nifty Media rose. Paytm stock fell nearly 5%
The stock of Paytm’s parent company One97 Communications Limited closed at Rs 530 today with a decline of 4.48%. In fact, market regulator Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has issued a show cause notice to Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma and members involved in the board during the IPO offering in November 2021. Earlier, on Friday i.e. 23rd August, the stock market was up. Sensex closed at 81,086 with a gain of 33 points. Nifty also rose by 11 points, it closed at 24,823. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 15 were up and 13 were down. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 22 were up and 28 were down. Talking about the sectoral index of NSE, there was a decline in all except the auto sector. The auto sector was up by 1.12%. Whereas, Nifty Realty had the maximum decline of 2.43%. At the same time, Media had a decline of 1.29% and IT had a decline of 1.00%.
