29 names in BJP’s third list in Jammu and Kashmir: 28 candidates of the list withdrawn yesterday repeated; Candidate changed from Vaishno Devi seat

BJP on Tuesday released the third list of 29 candidates for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. It includes names of 10 candidates for the second phase and 19 candidates for the third phase. The party had released 3 lists in 5 hours on August 26. There were 44 names in the list released at 10 am, when there was protest, the list was withdrawn. Two hours later, a new list of 15 names was released. Three hours later, another list of single names came. In the third list released today, the party has repeated 28 names from yesterday. Only from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi seat, the party has given ticket to Baldev Raj Sharma instead of Rohit Dubey. Voting for 90 seats of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in 3 phases between September 18 and October 1. The results will come on October 4, 2024. The majority figure to form the government is 46. As soon as the first list came on 26th August, workers started protesting in Jammu BJP office. Workers said that the party has dropped parachute candidates. Last assembly elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir in 2014. Then BJP and PDP formed a coalition government. The government fell after the alliance broke in 2018. After this, Governor’s rule remained in the state for 6 months (according to the Jammu and Kashmir Constitution at that time). After this, President’s rule came into force.
