Kolkata rape or gang rape, CBI will take help of AIIMS experts: Former principal Sandeep Ghosh again underwent polygraph test, ED registered a case

Investigating agency CBI will take the help of experts from Delhi AIIMS in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. DNA and forensic reports will determine whether Sanjay Roy is the only accused in the incident or other people are also involved in the crime. This way it will be clear whether the lady doctor was raped and then gang-raped. CBI has sought permission from a Kolkata court to conduct a polygraph test on ASI Anup Dutta. It will be ascertained whether Dutta helped the main accused Sanjay Roy in hiding the crime. On the other hand, on Monday, former principal of the medical college Sandeep Ghosh was again subjected to a polygraph test. So far, information has not been revealed about what Ghosh told the CBI in this. Earlier on August 24, he and 4 fellow doctors along with a volunteer were subjected to a polygraph test. Actually, a trainee doctor was raped and murdered at RG Kar Medical College on August 9. Her body was found in the seminar hall of the hospital. Civic volunteer Sanjay Roy has been arrested in this case so far. ED also registered a case against the former principal

After the Central Investigation Agency CBI, now ED will investigate financial irregularities against Sandeep Ghosh. A case of money laundering has been registered against him. ED has taken this action on the basis of CBI’s FIR. On August 25, CBI raided Sandeep Ghosh’s house. The agency searched 15 locations of Ghosh and people associated with him. CBI registered a case of financial irregularities against Ghosh on August 24. CBI took this action on the orders of the Calcutta High Court. In fact, former Deputy Superintendent of Medical College Akhtar Ali had filed a petition in the High Court accusing Ghosh of financial irregularities in the medical college. After this, the High Court also handed over the responsibility of investigating the case of corruption in the hospital to CBI. The main accused Sanjay Roy has confessed his crime in the polygraph test on August 25. Sanjay said that he had murdered the trainee doctor after raping her. Before committing the crime, he went to the red light area. He also teased a girl on the way and asked for nude pictures from his girlfriend. According to India Today’s report, Sanjay had also admitted to rape and murder in police custody. Sanjay’s confession came 18 days after the rape and murder. The trainee doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Medical College on the night of 8 and 9 August. The half-naked body of the girl was found in the seminar hall of the medical college on the morning of 9 August. 3 hours of polygraph test, Sanjay said 3 things… 1. CBI and Central Forensic Team members conducted a polygraph test of Sanjay for 3 hours on Sunday (25 August). Sanjay confessed that he had raped and murdered the trainee doctor. 2. During the polygraph test, Sanjay told CBI that he had drunk alcohol with a friend on 8 August. After this, he went to the red light area. On the way, he molested a girl. After this, Sanjay talked to his girlfriend on video call late at night and asked for nude pictures. 3. Sanjay told that he reached the seminar hall of the hospital at around 4 am, where he went to his friend’s house in the morning after raping and murdering the trainee doctor. His friend was an officer in Kolkata Police. Sanjay had told the judge while crying – Maybe the polygraph test will prove my innocence. Sanjay was arrested the very next day of the incident. Sanjay was a civic volunteer in the medical college itself. After the police, the case was handed over to the CBI on 14 August. After this, he was presented in the Sealdah court. On 23 August, the court allowed the polygraph test of 7 people including Sanjay. Crying in front of the magistrate, he said – I have not committed any crime. I am being framed. Maybe the polygraph test will prove my innocence. CBI had claimed in the court that after the arrest, Sanjay had confessed his crime. There was neither any panic nor any regret in him. He told the whole incident without hesitation. Sanjay had asked for permission to sleep, said- I am tired of continuous interrogation
The main accused Sanjay Roy has been kept in judicial custody in the VIP ward of Presidency Correctional Home. Other famous prisoners including former Bengal ministers Partha Chatterjee and Jyotipriya Malik are also lodged here. However, Sanjay has been kept away from them. Sanjay had asked for permission to sleep from the jail administration. He said that he is tired after continuous interrogation by Kolkata Police and CBI for the last two weeks. In the initial days, the interrogation used to go on till late night. That’s why I want to sleep. The Supreme Court had said- I have not seen such negligence in 30 years
The Supreme Court had also made a strong comment on the attitude of the police and hospital management. The case was heard in the Supreme Court on August 22. The CBI told the court that the crime scene has been tampered with. The court had said that at 10:10 am the police received the news that a trainee doctor was found unconscious in the hospital. Then the police got the post-mortem of the body done between 6 and 7 pm. The girl’s last rites were also performed, but the FIR was registered at 11:45 pm. The FIR should have been lodged first. Also, it should have mentioned unnatural death.
