India’s left arm pacer Barinder Sran has retired from international cricket. 31-year-old Sran made his debut for India in 2016. In the same year, he played 6 ODIs and 2 T20s for India between January and June. Since then he could not get a chance in the Indian team. Sran wrote on Instagram, I am officially retiring from cricket. I want to thank everyone for my journey. Sran also played 24 IPL matches for Hyderabad, Mumbai, Rajasthan and Punjab. Barinder, a farmer’s son, saw an advertisement of Kings XI Punjab team. In which the team had called young players for trials. He was not selected in the trials, but he continued playing cricket. Even after failing in the trials, Saran continued playing cricket. He used to play cricket with a tennis ball, but from here he participated in the Kings Cup. Saran did not get many opportunities in IPL, but after playing just 8 List-A matches for Punjab, he got a chance in Team India. He made his ODI debut against Australia in January. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, he also took 3 wickets for 56 runs in Perth. Sran was then selected for the Zimbabwe tour, where he made his T20 debut in July and played 2 matches. Since 2011, Sran has played 18 first class matches, 31 List-A matches and 48 T20 matches for Punjab. After 2021, Sran has not played any domestic match. In the IPL, he got a place in the squads of Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians. He was also the net bowler of Gujarat Titans. After retirement, he can now become a part of the Legends Cricket League.
