A child care worker has pleaded guilty to charges of sexually abusing, raping and abusing 60 girls in Australia. The accused is named Ashley Paul Griffith, who committed these crimes while working in child care. Griffith was being tried in more than 300 cases in Brisbane District Court. Griffith committed these crimes in training schools in Brisbane and Italy from 2003 to 2022. During the hearing on Monday, the District Judge took more than 2 hours to read out the charges against Ashley. Australian police arrested Griffith in 2022 for sexually abusing 60 girls. Last year the police brought the allegations against him to the public. 46-year-old Griffith is the biggest pedophile (one who commits sexual crimes against children) in Australia’s history. Police had registered a case against Griffith in 2023 for 1691 crimes against 91 children. Earlier this year, the number of charges was reduced to 307. After this, Griffith was produced in the district court. These include 190 cases of indecent behavior, 28 cases of rape, 67 cases of making child abuse material, four cases of making child abuse material outside Australia, 15 cases of repeatedly having sex with a child and other cases. Family members started crying after hearing the names of the children According to Australia State Media ABC News, when the names of the victim children were taken during the hearing in the court room, their parents started crying. The father of a victim girl, while talking to ABC, described the incident with his daughter as very horrific. He told that when the police contacted him, he thought that the police were contacting him about some other incident that happened in the daycare center. But instead the police asked him to identify his child from a photo. The child’s mother said that whenever we see a child going to child care, we remember the incident that happened with our child.
