Famous TV actor Rajesh Puri has made a big revelation. He said that once he narrowly escaped kidnapping. When he came to Delhi to attend an award function, an attempt was made to kidnap him. However, he understood the current situation and somehow saved himself. Rajesh Puri told in an interview given to ETimes TV how he was invited as a chief guest in an event in Delhi and then an attempt was made to trap him. The actor said that in the beginning of September he got a call from a person named Shivam. The person had said that a program is being organized by the government on September 8 in Delhi, in which you have to be invited as a chief guest. Rajesh Puri said that he was also giving me Rs 35,000. I had asked him for a formal invite, but then I thought that such events keep happening, so I did not pay much attention. He said that when he reached Delhi airport to attend the event, two men had come to pick him up. They made me sit in a taxi and then after about an hour they shifted my luggage to a new car. That car did not have a number plate and the driver was wearing a mask. The actor said that when I asked them, they said that this is a new car. But I still did not feel right inside and they started taking me towards Meerut, when I asked them, they did not give any correct answer. Rajesh Puri further told that now I started understanding that something is definitely wrong, so I started telling them about my strong relations in Delhi to make them uncomfortable. The actor said that those people took me to a dhaba 12 km away from Meerut. Where he talked to one of those people, who told him that he has been kidnapped. There was no event going on and it was all fake. Rajesh said that when I begged them to drop me somewhere, the kidnappers, while talking among themselves, left me at the border, from where my brother-in-law came to pick me up. Rajesh further said that at night he got a call from one of the kidnappers and he told him why he was kidnapped. The kidnapper said that his car was being chased by armed men, and I was being taken to a remote area where they planned to demand a ransom of one or two crore rupees. The story he was told was that the person who sent the kidnappers said that the actor owed him Rs 35 lakh, but later the kidnappers realised that it was a lie.’ When Rajesh Puri was asked if he lodged a complaint with the police, the actor said that his lawyers have advised him not to do so as it might anger the kidnappers.
