India has sent relief material worth $1 million (about Rs 8.4 crore) to help Vietnam affected by floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi. India has named it Operation Sadbhav. Under this operation, India has sent a total of 35 tonnes of relief material like water filters, water containers, blankets, kitchen utensils and solar lanterns. This material was sent by the Air Force’s C17 aircraft on Sunday night. After the damage caused by Yagi in Vietnam, Prime Minister Modi and External Affairs Minister Jaishankar had expressed sympathy to the people of Vietnam. More than 200 people have died due to floods and landslides caused by Typhoon Yagi in Vietnam. According to the Vietnamese newspaper VN Express, more than 100 people are missing. More than 800 are injured. On 10 September, Lang Nu village was buried in mud due to a landslide in Lao Cai province. At around 6 am on Tuesday, mud and rocks came down from a mountain 500 meters away, due to which the entire village was buried in mud. There were 37 houses in this village, in which 158 people lived. After the landslide, the local people were successful in taking 17 injured people to the hospital. According to VN Express, the bodies of 42 people have been recovered.
