2017 NEET topper Dr. Navdeep Singh (25), a resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib in Punjab, committed suicide on Sunday. His body was found hanging from a noose in a room of the Parsi Anjuman Dharamshala in Delhi. Navdeep was pursuing MD from the Radiology Department at Maulana Azad College in Delhi. The police have not recovered any suicide note from the spot. As soon as the incident was reported, Navdeep’s entire family reached Delhi. The police have handed over the body to the family after conducting the post-mortem. It is not yet clear in the police investigation why Navdeep committed suicide. The family says that Navdeep was very close to his family. There was no dispute in the family that would make him take such a step. When the door was not opened, the guard broke in and entered. Navdeep Singh lived in the Parsi Dharamshala itself. On Sunday morning, when he did not come out of the room for a long time, the guard knocked on the door. After waiting for a long time, when there was no response from inside, the guard broke the door of the room with the help of other people. Inside, Navdeep had hanged himself from the fan. The guard immediately informed the police. Mobile sent for forensic investigation When the police reached the spot, Navdeep’s mobile was found lying there. The police seized the mobile and sent it to the lab for forensic investigation. The police questioned Navdeep’s friends in the medical college, but the reason for the suicide was not revealed. Navdeep’s senior doctor said that he was very good in studies. After completing MBBS from Maulana Azad College, he took admission in MD. Navdeep was on leave on Sunday. Father is a teacher, brother is doing MBBS Navdeep Singh’s father Gopal Singh is the principal of a government school. His mother Simranjit Kaur works in a life insurance company. Navdeep also has a younger brother, he is studying MBBS from a college in Chandigarh. Navdeep was fond of playing cricket in his childhood. After completing 12th, his dream was to study in a big MBBS college in Delhi and become a doctor. For this, he took coaching from a center in Chandigarh. In 2017, he gave the NEET exam and topped all India. Navdeep had scored 697 marks in his exam.
