The Crime Branch of Delhi Police on Wednesday busted an international drug syndicate. Police seized 560 kg of cocaine from Mehrauli in South Delhi. Its price in the international market is said to be around Rs 2000 crore. Police has arrested 4 smugglers in this case. Out of these, 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine were recovered from two accused Hashimi Mohammad Waris and Abdul Naib. Biggest bust in the capital so far
This is considered to be the biggest case of cocaine seizure in Delhi so far. Police was working for the last two months to trace this syndicate. Then the police got input of drug supply. These smugglers were trying to sell this drug in the capital and NCR. Drugs were hidden in the warehouse
Special Cell Pramod Singh Kushwaha said – The name of one of the accused is Tushar Goyal. He is a resident of Vasant Vihar, Delhi. His two friends Himanshu and Aurangzeb were also with him. The three accused were caught from Kurla West along with receiver Bharat Jain. About 15 kg of cocaine was recovered from Tushar, Himanshu and Aurangzeb. They were caught when they were coming out of the warehouse in Mahipalpur Extension to supply it to the receiver. Kushwaha also told that the police have found cocaine in 23 polo shirts and Merwana in a box from the third floor of the warehouse. Delhi Crime Branch had busted an international drug cartel on 30 September, in which 228 kg of ganja was seized. Its price in the international market was estimated to be around Rs 1.14 crore. Two suppliers of this cartel were also arrested. 6 kg cocaine was seized on 27 July: On 27 July, Delhi Police caught a German citizen at Delhi Airport with 6 kg grade-A cocaine. The price of this cocaine in the international market was said to be Rs 12 crore. The name of the accused was Ashok Kumar.
