Two minors shot dead a 55-year-old doctor at Neema Hospital in Jaitpur area of Kalindi Kunj, Delhi. The deceased has been identified as Unani doctor Javed Akhtar. Both the accused fled after the incident. They are being searched. According to hospital staff, the age of both the accused was between 16 and 17 years. One of the accused was treated for a toe injury on October 1. He reached the hospital late Wednesday night with a boy. After getting the dressing done, he went to the cabin and fired.
The accused asked to change the dressing of his thumb. After the dressing was done, the minors said that they needed a prescription. They asked to meet Dr. Javed and after taking an appointment, went to the doctor’s cabin. A few minutes later, hospital staff Ghazala Parveen and Mohd. Kamil heard the sound of a gunshot. They reached the doctor’s cabin and saw that Javed Akhtar was bleeding from his head. The accused fled after the incident. Police said that the case seems to be of target killing. In the CCTV footage, both the accused are seen coming out of the hospital. Immediately after the incident, the District Crime Team and Forensic Team were called to the spot. The matter is being investigated.
