Former cricketer Salil Ankola’s mother’s body found: Injury marks found on neck, murder suspected, she was alone at home

The body of former cricketer Salil Ankola’s mother Mala Ashok Ankola (77) was found in suspicious circumstances at her house in Prabhat Road in Pune. There were injury marks on her face. Police is considering it as a murder. She was alone in the house. On getting the information, the police took her to a hospital in Pune where doctors declared her dead. Police has started investigating the case.
There were wounds on the neck
According to the information, when the helper reached the house to work in the afternoon and rang the doorbell, the door did not open. After which the helper called her daughter and informed her. After that the helper’s husband opened the door of the house. At that time Mala Ankola was soaked in blood. There was a knife wound on her neck. He informed the police about the incident. Police reached the spot. She was taken to the hospital.
First wife had committed suicide
Salil Ankola’s first wife Parineeti Ankola had committed suicide in the year 2013. At that time she had gone to her maternal home and the rest of the family had gone to attend a wedding. Ankola has played 20 ODIs and one Test for Team India
Salil Ankola has played one Test and 20 ODIs for Team India. He took 13 wickets in ODIs and two wickets in Tests. Apart from this, he also played a total of 54 First Class and 75 List A matches in his career. Ankola played with Sachin-Dravid and Ganguly
Salil Ankola made his Test debut against Pakistan on 15 November 1989 in Karachi. However, this match proved to be his last Test match. Salim Malik was Ankola’s first victim. Ankola made his ODI debut against Pakistan in 1989 itself and his first ODI wicket was Imran Khan. Ankola played the last match of his career in Durban in 1997 under the captaincy of Sachin.
