The CM residence on Flag Staff Road in Delhi was sealed on Wednesday. PWD has removed CM Atishi’s belongings from the residence. In fact, former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal vacated the residence on October 4. Atishi had come to live in it only two days ago. PWD officials came to the CM residence at 11-11:30 am. According to them, the rules were not followed in handing over the house. Atishi had the keys to this house, but she was not given the official documents of the house being allotted. The officials took the keys of the house by noon. Regarding this, the CM Office said, ‘For the first time in history, a Chief Minister has been asked to vacate his house. LG forcibly removed CM Atishi’s belongings from the house at the behest of the BJP. Preparations are being made to give this CM residence to a big BJP leader. The Director of Vigilance has sent show-cause notice to three officials including Kejriwal’s special secretary. Two other officers are those who were posted in the CM camp office when Kejriwal was the CM. They have been asked why they did not hand over the keys of the CM residence to the PWD despite clear instructions. These officials have been asked to file a reply within seven days. There is no official CM house in Delhi. All the CMs who were CMs before Kejriwal have lived in different bungalows. In 1993, Madanlal Khurana was allotted 33 Shamnath Marg, after him Sahib Singh Verma was allotted 9 Shamnath Marg and Sheila Dikshit was first allotted AB-17 Mathura Road and in the second term, 3 Motilal Nehru Marg bungalow. In Delhi, the Chief Minister chooses the bungalow according to his convenience. After leaving the post of CM, he has to live in his ancestral, private or rented house. No separate housing allowance is given for this. Housing allowance is included in the total amount given every month.
