The Nobel Prize for Literature 2024 has been announced. This year, this prize has been awarded to Han Kang of South Korea. She has been honored for presenting poignant stories of life in a beautiful way. Han Kang started her career in 1993 by writing poems. In 1995, she started writing stories. Han Kang is the 18th and first Korean woman to win the Nobel Prize. Earlier, she also won the Man Booker International Prize in 2016 for the novel ‘The Vegetarian’. This novel gave her international recognition. The Nobel Committee has particularly discussed Han Kang’s novel ‘Greek Lesson’. This is the story of a girl who has lost her voice due to the hardships of her life. She meets a Greek teacher who is losing his eyesight.
