Movie Review- Jigra: Alia Bhatt fails to make an impact, the story is also not special; only a few scenes can make you emotional

Alia Bhatt’s action thriller film ‘Jigra’ has been released in theatres today. Directed by Vasan Bala, this film has been produced by Alia Bhatt along with Karan Johar. The length of this film is 2 hours 35 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has given this film a rating of 2 stars out of 5. What is the story of the film? The story of this film is based on the emotional relationship between brother and sister. Satya (Alia Bhatt) loves her younger brother Ankur (Vedang Raina) very much. Satya has seen her father die in front of her eyes in her childhood. She cannot see her brother in any trouble. Ankur has to go to a country named Hansi Dao for some work. There he accidentally gets caught in a drugs case. The law of that country is very strict, due to which Ankur is sentenced to death. Satya wants to rescue her brother safely from there at any cost. How Satya saves her brother by fighting the whole world. Who supports her in this mission, what difficulties she faces in between. To know this you will have to watch the film. How is the acting of the starcast? In this film Alia Bhatt is seen in the role of an angry young woman. She has brought alive on screen the helplessness, helplessness, love and determination of a sister. But looking at her character it cannot be said that she has done something different. She has been seen in better roles than this before. Vedang Raina’s performance in the role of Ankur is commendable. Manoj Pahwa in the role of ex-gangster and Rahul Ravindran, Akashdeep and Sheeba in supporting roles have done well. How is the direction of the film? In the first half, the story of the film has maintained a good emotional grip. But the way the story has been woven in the second half does not seem convincing. The way Satya attacks the high security jail with her companions and frees her brother and his friends does not seem completely justified. The screenplay of the second half is also scattered. Alia Bhatt’s character could have been presented in a better way. Most of the dialogues of the film are in English. To understand them, one has to look at the Hindi subtitles again and again. How is the music of the film? Apart from the song ‘Tanu Sang Rakhna’ which plays in the background of this film, there is no other song that is memorable. Watching this film shows that director Vasan has a lot of Amitabh Bachchan hangover. Dialogues and songs from Amitabh Bachchan’s films are heard in the background. The background score is very loud. Final verdict, should you watch it or not? This film is based on the relationship between brother and sister. But it is not that the treatment of this film is very special. Then if you are a fan of Alia Bhatt, then you can watch this film once. Otherwise, this film will be released on the OTT platform in a few days.
