There will be no survey of the entire premises of Gyanvapi in Varanasi: Local court rejected the petition of the Hindu side; Lawyer said – will go to the High Court

The entire complex of Gyanvapi in Varanasi will not be surveyed. The fast track court on Friday rejected the petition of the Hindu side related to this. The Hindu side had claimed that a 100 feet Shivling is present under the main dome. In such a situation, the entire complex should be excavated and surveyed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Hindu side lawyer Jai Shankar Rastogi said that we will now go to the High Court regarding this matter. A lawyer Madan Mohan said, the demand for conducting a survey of Wazu Khana and ASI is already pending in the High Court. The district court could not give any order in contradiction to that. Perhaps this is why this petition has been dismissed. 33 years old case
The fast track court gave its verdict on the petition filed in 1991. 33 years ago, on behalf of Swayambhu Vishwanath Jyotirlinga, Pt. Somnath Vyas, Dr. Ramrang Sharma and Pt. Harihar Nath Pandey had raised the demand for ASI survey of the entire complex. However, all three have died. Now the plaintiff is advocate Vijay Shankar Rastogi. Muslim side said- Excavation can damage the mosque
The hearing on the petition demanding survey of the entire complex went on in the fast track court for 8 months. During this, the lawyers of the Muslim side had argued that when the ASI survey of the Gyanvapi complex has already been done once, then there is no justification for conducting a second survey. Digging a pit in the mosque premises for the survey would not be practical in any way. This can damage the mosque. Advocate Vijay Shankar Rastogi of the Hindu side opposed the arguments of the Muslim side. He had said that the ASI did not inspect the pond in the premises and the Shivling found in the commission’s proceedings. There is no mention of them in the report as well. The argument said that proper machines were not used in the survey, the remains were not searched by digging at the site. Apart from this, a large area of ??the complex is untouched by the survey. There is a possibility of finding many evidences in it. Understand the entire case of Gyanvapi from 1991 till now… In 2021, 5 women filed a petition on Gyanvapi.
