Afghanistan-A has won the Emerging Asia Cup title for the first time. The team defeated Sri Lanka-A by 7 wickets in the final played at Al Emirates Stadium on Sunday. This is a historic victory for Afghanistan cricket. This is the team’s first title in any format of cricket or age group tournament. The Afghanistan-A team had reached the semi-finals in 2017 and 2019. This time they reached the final for the first time and also won the title. In the match, Sri Lankan captain Nuwanindu Fernando won the toss and decided to bat first.
