Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman has been appointed coach of Team India for South Africa tour. Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir has to go on Australia tour. In such a situation, Laxman has been appointed coach of the white ball team. Cricket website Cricbaaz claimed that Laxman has been appointed coach, although BCCI has not confirmed it. Indian team has to go on South Africa tour next month. This series will be played from 8 November. Bahutule, Kanitkar and Ghosh also included in coaching staff
Along with Laxman, Sairaj Bahutule, Rishikesh Kanitkar and Subhadeep Ghosh associated with National Cricket Academy will go as supporting staff. Bahutule was recently the head coach of India-A for the Emerging Asia Cup. Kanitkar was the batting coach and Subhadeep Ghosh was the fielding coach. The team will leave for South Africa around 4 November. India will play four T20 Internationals on 8, 10, 13 and 15 November in Durban, Gabera, Centurion and Johannesburg respectively.
