Australian wicketkeeper batsman Matthew Wade has announced his retirement from international cricket. He will now be a part of the coaching staff of the Kangaroo team. Wade will play the role of wicketkeeping and fielding coach in the home T20 series against Pakistan. 8 months ago in March this year, after playing the Sheffield Shield final, he announced his retirement from first class i.e. red ball cricket. Matthew Wade played his last international match for Australia against India in the T20 World Cup.

Wade has played 36 Test matches, 97 ODIs and 92 T20 Internationals for Australia in a career spanning 13 years. Wade has coached the domestic team
Wade is coaching the Tasmanian youth and second XI teams. 36-year-old Matthew Wade made his debut for Australia in 2011. Wicketkeeper batsman Wade has not got a chance to play in ODIs and Tests since 2021. He was among the heroes of Australia’s victory in the 2021 T20 World Cup. He took Australia to the final by hitting three sixes against Shaheen Afridi in the semi-final match against Pakistan.
