The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has received important information in the Ganderbal attack case of Jammu and Kashmir. NIA said on Tuesday that the terrorists had received local support for this attack. On the night of 20 October, terrorists attacked a labor camp in Gagangiral area of ??Ganderbal. In this attack, 6 laborers from Bihar and Punjab, including Dr. Shahnawaz of Budgam, were killed. The responsibility of this attack was taken by Lashkar-e-Taiba’s organization The Resistance Front (TRF). New information on Ganderbal attack
NIA examined CCTV footage and talked to the survivors of the attack. NIA suspects that through local support, the terrorists got the vehicle for the attack and escape. Reconnaissance was done before the attack. The terrorists had solid information that the guards posted in the camp do not have weapons. Security in the camp is also weak. According to sources, a local from Kulgam had joined Lashkar-e-Taiba. He went missing from his home in 2023. NIA is considering him as the main accused in the Ganderbal attack. CCTV footage has revealed pictures of two terrorists entering the camp. They have not been identified yet. Both these terrorists are seen carrying American M-4 rifles and AK-47s. These terrorists stayed inside the camp for 7 minutes and fled after the attack. When NIA shared these photos with other agencies and inquired, the face of one of these terrorists was said to be similar to the person who went missing from his home in 2023. Eyewitness had said – two terrorists came wearing shawls, laborers were eating food
An eyewitness of the attack had told Jammu and Kashmir Police, “A camp was set up for laborers to stay near the tunnel construction site of Srinagar-Leh National Highway in Gagangir of Ganderbal. Two terrorists came to this camp wearing shawls. They had hidden weapons. The laborers were eating food in the mess of the camp, when the terrorists reached there and fired on the laborers. Apart from the mess, the terrorists fired at 2 more places. It was dark during the attack. We heard the sound of continuous gunfire. We thought these were firecrackers, because a wedding ceremony was going on at a distance of 100 meters.” TRF, which took responsibility for the attack, became active after the removal of 370
TRF has been declared a terrorist organization in India. Indian officials say that TRF has been formed by Pakistani terrorist organization Lashkar. It includes cadres of Lashkar and Jaish. This organization is involved in many incidents of killing of Kashmiris, Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus. After the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir in 2019, TRF has become more active. It is not Lashkar but TRF that takes responsibility for the attacks. It targets Kashmiri Pandits, migrant workers, government officials, politicians and security forces.
