IPL Mega Auction- List of retained players will be revealed tomorrow: 10 franchises have 1200 crores, option of uncapped rule for Dhoni; Know everything

The last date for player retention for IPL Mega Auction-2024 is Thursday, 31 October. Before 5 pm tomorrow, all the franchises will send the names of their retained players to the IPL organizing committee. With this list, it will be decided which player will play with which franchise? Not only this, it will also be revealed whether former Indian captain MS Dhoni will play the next IPL or not. Dhoni’s way to play IPL was opened a month ago on 28 September by BCCI with the uncapped placers rule of IPL’s new retention policy. The uncapped rule which was discontinued in 2021 has been implemented this time. All 10 franchises have a total budget of Rs 1200 crore for the mega auction. That is, every franchise has Rs 120 crore. Know everything about the mega auction in 6 points… 1. IPL’s new retention rule

Before the IPL mega auction, franchise teams can now retain 6 players. In which maximum 5 international and 2 uncapped players can be included. International player can be from any country, but uncapped player should be from India only. Suppose, Mumbai Indians retained 5 international players, then the team will now be able to retain any uncapped player as the sixth player. On the other hand, if the team retained 4 international players, then they will have the option to retain 2 uncapped players. 2. Change in Right-to-Match Card
Right to Match i.e. RTM card has also returned in the auction. If the teams want, they can retain 6 players before the auction or the teams can use 6 RTM cards in the auction. If the teams retain 3 players, then they will have only 3 RTM cards left in the auction. Similarly, if 4 players are retained, then 2 RTM cards will be left in the auction. Right to Match card is given to the teams in the auction. Suppose, Chennai Super Kings retained 5 players and they have one RTM card left. The team could not retain Moeen Ali. Now if Hyderabad buys Moeen for Rs 6 crore in the auction, then Chennai can keep Moeen in their team by using their RTM card. This time a new rule has been added to RTM, the bidding teams will have the opportunity to increase the price of the player. Like Hyderabad bids 6 crores on Moeen and CSK uses the RTM card, then Hyderabad can increase that price to 9 or 10 crores. Now if CSK uses the RTM card, then they will have to buy Moeen at the increased price. On the other hand, if CSK does not use the RTM card, then Moeen will become Hyderabad’s at the increased price. 3. 6 players can be retained for 79 crores
The purse limit of IPL teams has also been increased to Rs 120 crores, earlier it was 100 crores. 18 crores will be spent on retaining the first player, 14 crores on the second player and 11 crores on the third player. If only 3 players are retained, then Rs 43 crore will be spent from the purse. If the teams retain the fourth player, then they will have to pay him only Rs 18 crore. At the same time, Rs 14 crore will have to be spent for the fifth player. Only Rs 4 crore each will be required to retain the uncapped player. The last date for giving player retention is 31 October 2024 by 5 pm. If the teams retain 5 international and one uncapped player, then Rs 79 crore will be spent from their purse. At the same time, if the teams retain 4 international and 2 uncapped players, then Rs 69 crore will be spent from the purse. At the same time, if only 5 international players are retained, then Rs 75 crore will be spent from the purse. 4. Rules have become strict for foreign players
Foreign players will now have to register in the mega auction to participate in the IPL. If they do not register, they will not be allowed to participate in the next mini auction. If a foreign player withdraws from the tournament after being sold in the auction, he will be banned for the next 2 seasons. That means he will not be able to participate in the next 2 auctions as well. However, if the player is injured, he will not be banned, but for this he will have to take permission from his National Board. 5. Foreigners will not get more than ?18 crores
For the first time in IPL, a rule has also come on the amount to be given to foreign players. In the mini auction, foreign players will not get more than the highest retention value of Rs 18 crore. Or if the most expensive Indian player is sold for Rs 16 crore in the mega auction, then foreign players will not get more than Rs 16 crore in the mini auction. Suppose, Mumbai Indians retained Suryakumar Yadav at the highest retention price of Rs 18 crore. Now if Rinku Singh was the most expensive in the mega auction, but his price remained Rs 15 crore only. So in the next mini auction, the foreign player will not get more than Rs 15 crore. At the same time, if Rinku Singh is bought for Rs 20 crore in the mega auction, then in the next mini auction, the foreign player will not get more than Rs 18 crore for Surya. Here, foreign players will get the same amount which is the lowest among the retention and the highest price of the mega auction. However, teams can also buy foreign players by bidding Rs 20, 25 or 30 crore. The same amount will be deducted from their purse as the amount they bid, but the player will get only Rs 15 or 18 crore. The remaining amount will go to BCCI, which the board will spend on its players. 6. Dhoni will be able to play for 4 crores due to uncapped player rule
The uncapped player rule also returned to IPL. This rule was in place from 2008 to 2021, but no one used it. Now it is making a comeback. Under this, any Indian player who has played the last international match 5 years ago, teams will be able to retain him as an uncapped player. For example, former captain MS Dhoni, who won 5 IPL titles for Chennai Super Kings. He played his last match for India in 2019, which has been 5 years. Therefore, CSK can retain him as an uncapped player for only Rs 4 crore. The last date for player retention for IPL’s mega auction is October 31, people are searching for IPL-2025
