Once again in Jaipur a car engulfed in fire ran on the road without a driver. The incident happened on Wednesday night at 10 o’clock at Gopalpura culvert. A car going on the culvert suddenly caught fire. There were 7 people in the car. The young man driving the car immediately stopped the car and took everyone out. Everyone moved away from the car. The fire increased rapidly. During this time the car that caught fire started moving without a driver. It stopped after going about 100 meters ahead by hitting the wall of the culvert. The car driver informed the fire brigade about the fire. The fire brigade that reached the spot controlled the fire in 20 minutes. The car belonged to Amitabh Gupta, a resident of Mother Teresa Nagar (Malviya Nagar). Amitabh told – At around 10 pm, he was going to the ramparts to see the lights with his son Jayesh Gupta, wife Santosh Gupta and four other friends. Jayesh was driving the car. As soon as the car reached Gopalpura culvert, it suddenly started to smoke. When smoke started coming out of the AC in the moving car, Jayesh parked the car on the side of the culvert. After this, Jayesh turned off the car and applied the handbrake. They got very scared due to the fire in the car. Due to the courage of Jayesh, everyone stood at a safe place. Due to the fire, the handbrake of the car got damaged. The car started moving without the driver, which stopped after going about 100 meters ahead by hitting the wall of the culvert. Jayesh informed the police and fire brigade about the incident. The fire brigade from Malviya Nagar Fire Station reached the spot and controlled the fire. But, by then the car had burned. The fire first started in the front of the car. Then it reached near the driver’s seat. Then it started in the rear trunk. The car was bought four years ago for Rs 7 lakh. The fire was controlled in 20 minutes
Fireman Mahesh Sain said – At 10:10 pm, the control room received information about the fire in the car. On this, our team left from Malviya Nagar. Reached the culvert after 10 minutes. By then most of the car had burnt. The car owner was found on the spot. It took about 20 minutes to control the fire. The car was examined. Some items in it were burnt. People had got out of the car before the incident. Eyewitness Manoj Kumawat said – The car was burning on the road. People were making noise. When I went closer and saw, I came to know that the car occupants were standing outside. The car suddenly caught fire.
