Former Australian opener David Warner has been made the new captain of Sydney Thunders for the next season of the Big Bash League. He will replace Chris Green. This information was given by the franchise on Wednesday night. Warner has captained this franchise in 2011. 12 days ago on 25 October, Cricket Australia’s Conduct Commission lifted the lifetime captaincy ban on Warner. He was banned for ball tampering in a Test match against South Africa in 2018. Apart from Warner, Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft were also found guilty in the ball tampering case, who were banned from cricket for one year each. They had appealed to Cricket Australia to withdraw the ban.
