Baba Siddiqui murder case: Police claim- the accused were promised Rs 25 lakh, car, flat and Dubai trip

A new revelation was made on Friday in the case of the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui. Police said that the accused were promised several rewards for carrying out the murder. Out of the 18 arrested accused, 4 accused were promised Rs 25 lakh cash, car, flat and Dubai trip. According to the Times of India report, Ram Phoolchand Kanaujia (43), involved in the conspiracy, had promised Rupesh Mohol (22), Shivam Kuhad (20), Karan Salve (19) and Gaurav Appune (23) this reward for killing Baba Siddiqui. On the night of October 12, Baba Siddiqui was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan’s office. Gangster Lawrence Gang has taken responsibility for the murder. The accused told that Kanaujia was going to get money from another wanted accused named Zeeshan Akhtar (23). Zeeshan Akhtar is a resident of Jalandhar in Punjab. He is accused of having 10 bank accounts and sending more than four lakh rupees to the accused for the murder. Police arrested two more accused from Pune

Meanwhile, the Crime Branch arrested two people from Pune on Wednesday for being involved in the murder conspiracy. Aditya Gulnkar (22) and Rafiq Sheikh (22) are residents of Karve Nagar in Pune. They were produced in Esplanade Court and sent to police custody till November 13. The names of these two came up during the interrogation of accused Rupesh Mohol. Gulnkar was given training to use weapons near Khadakvasla. Police said that initially there was a plan to include more shooters, but the mastermind limited the number of shooters to only three. Therefore, the accused had collected more weapons. Lonkar and Mohol had provided the 9mm pistol

A police official said that investigations revealed that Gulnkar and Shaikh were in touch with other accused Praveen Lonkar and Rupesh Mohol. Lonkar and Mohol had given them a 9mm pistol and rounds. This pistol has been recovered. The rest of the weapons are being traced. The 9mm pistol was sent back from Mumbai to Pune and handed over to Lonkar, who gave it to Mohol and finally to Gulnkar and Shaikh. It was seized from Kuhad’s house. Police also said that they have seized a country-made pistol from Kanojia’s Panvel house. Police said that the fifth weapon was given to Kanojia, but he returned it before the murder. So far 18 accused have been arrested, 14 of them in jail

Siddique was murdered by three gunmen outside the office of his MLA son Zeeshan Siddique in Bandra East on October 12. Soon after the shootout, the police caught two shooters, while one absconded. He has not been arrested yet. So far, the investigating agencies have seized five weapons including Turkish and Australian-made pistols and 64 bullets from the accused. The motive behind the murder is not yet clear. Out of the 18 arrested accused, 14 are in jail while four are in police custody.
